My only year at Ashley was as a senior.  I transferred from a small rural high school in northwest NC.  Eddie and I had football lockers beside each other.  He welcomed me with his big smile and talked with me as if we had known each other for years.  He was a very good person and team mate!  My condolences to his family!  David H. Eddie Mac and I met in 10th grade homeroom, and shared 11th and 12th homerooms. We had a lot of laughs. He was a great guy. My sympathy to his family, friends, and classmates. Martha McPhail

Enjoyed knowing Eddie in high school. We played football together. He had a friendly smile for everyone. I am thankful that I got to see him at our reunion. I’ll miss him.

Eddie was such a sweet guy. The ministers at his service captured the very essence of Eddie. Both of them spoke of his quick smile, caring spirit and his willingness to do the behind the scene jobs at his church that were so necessary but not at all glamorous. He did them for the glory of the Lord. He left a legacy of being a caring and serving person who loved his family dearly. What more could anyone want to leave? May he rest in leave.

Eddie and I first met as 9 year old kids playing ball for opposing teams, we finally met & played together when we wore the Green Wave Jersey - Eddie was always ‘all in’ for whatever he did. We all will miss one of the best of the good guys.
