Faye Anne Hoffman (Boyette) VIEW PROFILE

Faye Anne Hoffman Boyette, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, educator, and community member, passed away peacefully at home on September 5, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on August 31, 1946, in Gastonia, North Carolina, Faye was the only daughter of the late John Elliot and Mildred Lewis Hoffman.

She was a graduate of Ashley High School and Lenoir Rhyne College. Faye’s dedication to education spanned over three decades, including 23 years as a teacher at Arlington Elementary School and eleven years as an assistant librarian at New Hope Elementary and Holbrook Middle School. Her commitment to nurturing young minds was matched by her active role in her church, Lutheran Chapel, where she participated in Sunday School and sang in the choir. Her love of music also shone brightly through her involvement with the Gaston Choral Society.

Faye was not only known for her professional accomplishments but also for her innovative spirit and resourcefulness. She had a remarkable talent for tackling any project with enthusiasm, from designing and creating her own dresses to crafting stunning floral arrangements. Her passion for baking was a joy to those around her, as she created stunning and delicious cakes that were a highlight of many celebrations.

Faye’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald Ray Boyette; sons and daughters-in law, Joel and Ellen Boyette and their son, Ronan; and Jon and Carmen Boyette and their children, Kayla, Olivia, Leah, Joshua, and Hannah. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Millie Boyette, and a grandson, Jack Boyette.

Faye will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her boundless kindness, unwavering devotion to her family, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 14 at Lutheran Chapel Church with Pastor Michael Comer officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church following the graveside service.
