Susan Stapleton Mclaurin,79, of Pittsboro NC passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8th, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Robert and Richard Stapleton. She was also preceded by her loving husband of 42 years, Dr. Lambert Pascal "Pac" McLaurin Jr.

She is survived by son Terry Drum Jr. and wife Jamie, son Ashley Drum and wife Connie, and her six grandchildren.

Susan is also survived by Step-daughter Grace McLaurin Ehrenreich and four step-grandchildren. 

A lifelong artist, Susan earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree from Christopher Newport College and her Master of Fine Arts in Visual Studies from Old Dominion.  

Susan's family is holding a Celebration of Life service to honor her on Saturday, October 11th, 2025  at 11:00AM at the Church of the Holy Cross,Valle Crucis, 122 Skiles Way, Banner Elk, NC 28604

Interment of Ashes in the Memorial Garden wil be  followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Church of the Holy Cross in Valle Crucis in her honor.
