Mrs. Sandra Lee Yarborough Adams, 75, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at her home in Gastonia, surrounded by her family. She was born July 24, 1946 in Gastonia, a daughter of the late Harvey Lee and Vera Faye Mayes Yarborough.

Sandra served as secretary/treasurer of Joaco Machine Shop for 34 years and retired from Gaston ENT. She was a lifelong Baptist and was a member of South Marietta Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time at N. Myrtle Beach attending SOS. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and sister.

Sandra is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joe Clement Adams, Jr. of Gastonia; children and spouses, Jody and Michelle Adams of Gastonia; Jenny A. and Tom Wilson of McAdenville, NC; sisters, Sharon Y. and Joseph Harrill of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; Pam Y. and Hiram “Skip” Taylor of Lincolnton, NC; brother, Danny and Kim Yarborough of Gastonia; grandchildren, Cassie Adams and fiancé Brian Curry of Charlotte, NC; Jack Sarno, of Gastonia; Nathan Wilson and wife Dharma of Cherryville, NC; Ava Sarno of Gastonia; Nevin Wilson of McAdenville, NC: Cory Adams of Gastonia; Nick Wilson of McAdenville, NC; future great-granddaughter Kennedy Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Sandra will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, February 6, 2022 in Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors with Pastor Tommy Self officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Marietta Street Baptist Church, 911 S. Marietta St., Gastonia, NC 28054 or Carolina Caring Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658.

I'm so sorry to hear of Sandra passing.  We were friends in high school and at Gaston College. She was a special friend who will be missed by many.  May God comfort Joe and her family.
