Joanne Yoder

Joanne Yoder Foerste, 78 years of age, passed away peacefully at CaroMont Hospital in Gastonia, surrounded by her family after a well fought battle with multiple conditions.

She was a graduate of Ashley High School in 1946. In her early years she worked as a bank teller at BB&T and site office in manager and bookkeeper at Pinnix Construction at the Charlotte Airport. She spent most of her years as a mother, wife and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her son, Todd White and her parents, James Memory Yoder and Margaret Yoder, and sister, Carolyn Henderson.

She is survived by her husband, David Foerste; son, Neil White; grandchildren, Tristen White and Samantha White; nieces and nephews, Beth Cloninger and Eddie Henderson; and great niece Laura Hughes.

She was a loving, caring and generous person that would give you the shirt off her back. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. She was dearly loved and married to David for 52 years. She loved music and recording it and sharing it with family and friends. She was accomplished calligrapher and loved sending greeting cards for all occasions. She occasionally enjoyed going to Cherokee to play the slot machines, and loved her cat, Bella.

May your beautiful and gentle spirit soar among the clouds free of pain and suffering.
